loosing people on rides

you know how Ritchie was pissed because the gate was locked at Stony batter when he got there ... maybe the way to solve the problem of loosing people is that we use a buddy system ...you pick a person at the beginning of the ride and make sure he is there all along and perhaps you could double it up on larger rides say one set of buddys looks after another set so you have 4 people looking after each other ...??????

Nice to look out for people,

Nice to look out for people, but it's up to individuals to opt in/ out as they choose. Other rides I've been on, the pack tends to look out for everyone in the end anyway - waiting at junctions/ stops etc. Not dissing the ride, cause I had a good time and appreciate efforts that went into organising - ferry discount/ stony batter tour etc, but perhaps if aaron were able to come or if someone stepped into his shoes as communicator it may have been a little more cohesive.

waiheke ride

The ride on Sunday was unfortunately a bit disorganised as Aaron wasnt able to make it and as he had the maps, itinery etc.. there was a bit of confusion as to what was going on but I think it was a good day (until the rain)! I agree with Miss Megan that some guys want to do their own thing on a run and there should be no problem with that as long as they let someone know that they will be splitting so we are not waiting around for them. Usually we do have a 'tail end charlie' and someone in the middle of the pack to keep an eye on the others but this was overlooked to a certain extent on Sunday. Also the gate incident was another communication mishap as none of us knew until afterwards that the gate was only unlocked on our behalf. In these situations if the chairman is on the run he should take charge or allocate someone to organise the event, or if not the next committee member available (IF THEY KNOW THE ITINERY). Sarah
