I'm more of a site lurker than contributor and have only had the means to attend one ride with the club so far (which I thoroughly enjoyed) so consider myself a fringe member because I don't yet know anyone personally...
I found out about the club by Googling around after buying my scooter and getting all keen. Reading the forums is a major way of sussing out whether or not the Magetos are a good bunch of guys and gals to share scooter time with. For the most part, the forum entries show exactly that - some great characters who voice varying opinions, give and take a bit of light-hearted stick and keep their tongues firmly in their cheek when they poke a bit of fun. Occasionally, however, the line gets crossed and tempers flare. While some may think this is healthy, it pays to remember that the comments are very public and there are those of us who may think twice about giving up weekend time with the kids to ride scooters with people who appear to hate each other.
While the line between disagreeing and attacking may be blurry, it is still there and I think it is quite valid for moderators to point out to someone when they cross it. The image of the club actually does ride on it to some extent - at least to those who are interested in scooters and looking for an on-line and on-street community.
of debate but a fear of repeating past uglyness. I can only speak for myself but I`m fed up with it. The conditions for using this site including moderation are easy to find on the first page when you log in.What`s to debate?
There is a line
