It is always hard to maintain a balance between talking scooters and getting all political and emotional.  I would suggest less progesterone and more testosterone.  Me, I dig scooters, chicks and being a dad.  The smell of two-stroke, the sound of a ScootRS pipe on a PX (yep, was flying down the Southern this morning, CHOICE) and the wind in your helmet.

I could not care less how "hurt" someone feels about being snubbed.  Get over it and get a life.  As Eggie said yesterday, there is enough drama in the world without Caza and others getting all menstrual on us.

Hope I don't get moderated.  I am just so over this.

I just wish that a few more of the posters on this site would stick to scooters and riding scooters and showing pics of scooters and the like.  There is just too much whining and whinging going on and like it or not, the majority of users and members alike are tired of it.  This is our public face and to me, it sometimes looks like a therapist's couch!!

I apologise for my rant this morning but will not remove it at the moment.  I know that it lowers me to that level but my goodness, I am so over this being discussed at the Committee meetings and us being under the hammer from the cops and the like.  It is time we behaved like adults, stopped "lurking" and just be normal.

Perhaps it is time to re-investigate the grass roots of Magnetos.  I joined for my love of scootering and after Googling "Auckland Scooter Clubs" the front page of the Magnetos Scooter Club popped up and convinced me to join with the following dittie:

"As a club we subscribe to the maxim that if you love riding your motor scooter then we want to welcome you to our organisation. In keeping with our original concept of giving all the scooter riders out there a uniting sense of belonging, the Club has always regarded itself as one that can have a national feel to it. This means that a sole rider in any provincial town can at least know that they can have an active association with other riders and belong to a highly visible group."

This is the club I pay to belong to.  Perhaps some forum contributers should take time out to re-read what Magnetos is about.

Don't do it, man. I don't know where you're coming from a lot of the time and I very rarely agree with what you have to say (although I must admit that some of your posts are rather amusing) but I will certainly defend your right to say it. What, so you're going to leave this site to a bunch of people who all think (and post) the same way?? You mentioned 'tumble-weed city' a while ago... don't go the way of modelcitizen and matt and god knows how many others that have allowed themselves to be run out of town by the middle-of-the-road sheriffs (a.k.a. the fun police). Stand up for your rights, brother.

mate im sure you are sick of ranting all sorts of stuff, mayb its time to put some of your scoot picts on the site, i know you got sum awsum scoots and go for sum pretty cool runs, let see them forget the rest of the rubbish and get on with it.

Caza, you always like to heat things up and see where it goes - problem is, your idea of a laugh is not only destructive, but the actual cause for most of this bullsh*t.

You put people off from coming here by stirring things up, then attacking the club for any sort of moderation and then turn the whole thing into a three-ringed circus.

I just want to come here to talk a bit of scoot and check out the pics; I'd be bloody interested to know if you're actually a paid member.

Mark slid his sidecar scoot nicely sideways in between two cars on the way to the gym today. Now that was too cool to see. i gess he stands up to pee ...Truly i wouldent have beleived it if i hadent seen it. A couple of hours later we were PARKED on the pavement next to Aotea square eating afternoon tea & a parking warden chick saunterd over to us for a wee chat....she said my ride was better than Mandels Bella sidecar....sweet it was my H.D, but no mention of a parking violation to us, it must have been our lovely smiles & acres of skin art. Its true there must be at least one human metre maid in Auks.

How absolutely exhausting.  Some people clearly have nothing better to do. . . Life is too short to be miserable and grumpy.  My philosophy, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all !!  Why would anyone want to log in to a site that is depressingly negative !

Thanks to Mandl and Hone and Goetz and others for talking scoots, talking rides and talking 60's retro.  Good on you guys.  A few of us still seem interested in scoots.  Choice!

Most of the scooter content lately here has been shots of the same modern bikes sitting outside latte stops. Surely this club isn't so one-dimensional that everyone gets turned on by content like that?
Mature political discussion becomes more common (and fun) as we get older and wiser. I would hate to imagine how boringly simple some of your lives are after reading some of these comments. Let's ignore facets of life that aren't fluffy-kitten-like and concentrate on hugging trees and practising lamaze techniques shall we?
..... does raise some good points around the whole moderation deal, and it is amazing that many are willing (and able it seems) to simply sweep those crumbs under the rug and pretend they never happened. It's almost facist, "we will allow you to read only what we deem fit to be read". It's nice to know there are some people out there still willing to push the envelope, strong personalities have kept the scooter scene alive for years despite the "toy/joke/fag" label it's been tagged with in the past, whereas the sheep just come and go with each new wave...
