Come on all you scooter drivers, join up with us at the "Jolly Farmer" ( its old name) that's at Drury. 1000am for a ride to Port Waikato, lunch at Mercer, on the way back.
Ride at your own pace, not at motorway speeds. Hyabusas still welcome if a scooter wont fit. johnD
And I have been revving everyone up, you really should enjoy this run!Weather outlook good.
As for me, bit unwell, so have a "good one" anyway.
I will think of you riders enjoying seeing the beautiful countryside with the fantastic red rich soil, beautiful cattle and WaikatoXXX, oops!
Cheers

Sat ride, great weather, great country scenery, but bugger all scoots. This is the reason "other" bikes are welcome as 90% of members can't be bothered. What other reason is there for such a pathetic turn out. Rex's ride last week was even less populated. I'll say it again, why are we running these rides, when the vast majority of members show no interest... johnD
Just my two cents worth. This time of year is pretty busy round home - rescuing garden from being ignored all winter, and all the other little jobs you'ved meant to get around to but need to do now because the rellies are coming at Christmas and you don't want them to think you live in Smash Palace.
I looked at a couple of rides but decided they were too long. I could probably do four or five hours later in the summer but I'd go along on shorter rides now. Possibly. Also they seem more suitable for maxi scooters. My old PX would be fine but the new one's asthsmatic as a mouldy student-flat couch potato. Until that's sorted I fear it would just be a pain. I liked the volcanoes ride. Dairy Flat ride to Riverhead was good fun. Devonport could be good. Waiheke trip might be fun too - but we're back to four or five hours again...
It's not that I don't appreciate the effort and thought you put into this, just short of time right now!
Fair comment, Ian - this time of year is always a busy one and lots of extra things always crop up.
January is not a real club ride time as its the holiday period but generally every other month has one long ride and one short ride i.e. usually a city type ride so that we can cater for those who want a local scoot round town (also suits 50cc and classics) and then a longer ride for those who want to venture beyond the city boundaries.
Thanks for your ride suggestions - always good to hear what members would like to do and I think the Devonport run is a cool idea :-)

Hyabusas? Wot dat?
Just emphasisng that there will be a meet up at 9.00am at the Honeywell car park at bottom of Mt Eden summit as well as the 10.00am one further south.
Also, I have heard that there is a new cafe at the beach end of Port Waikato where the surf clubhouse was/is - think that I will check it out ;).
See you at 9.00am at Honeywell.

But what's this hyabusas business?
I'm not up with models, I just ride what I ride. Is this a way of saying bikes welcome? Way too subtle for me.
Hope weather better for weekend, just call me greedy for sunshine.
Are you taking the piss Ritchie? Being one who rides small wheels as well as big wheels, surely you would know what a 'bus is?
As an exclusively small wheel rider even I know what a Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa is.....
