Maico Rat

Back in about 1961 I went with Auckland Scooter Club to a gymkana held in Taupo. A large group from Wellington rode up for the competition. Does anybody know who this guy is. All I know is that he worked for the Wellington Maico agency of the time and he raced this thing. It was seriously fast. The motor had been tweeked and I think he used some very potent fuel too. Note the backpack. It's the petrol tank!!

I guess 'expansion chambers' were not common back then.
