Advanced Rider Training
Posted March 7th, 2010 by RoberTron

there wasn't many scooters but we held our own. this day was a great day to hear riding tips from very experienced drivers. each group (divided by power and experience) had four sessions to practice what they had heard with the instructors riding amongst the group. i am sure that this will help me stay where i should be, shiny side up and on the road.
it was also really, really good fun driving the scooter as hard as i could; it handles much better than i thought it did after three years driving on the road. the front straight at pukekohe was the fastest for the 2 scooters but i couldn't quite get the limiter to kick in. i think i would have if i had left the screen on - surprising that it goes a lot slower without the screen.
thouroughly recommend this day, and thanks to whoever made the links to get us there (iona?)

I am so glad that this training day went well and that the scoots did their owners proud. I don't think that AMMC has had many if any scooters on their training sessions before so nice work.
There are some more training sessions coming up that are being offered in Ellerslie and I will post that as an event as it is happening this Saturday, 20 March 2010 - it is not too late to do it. Will post the details soon.
