Etc/GMT+12

This is a ride more suited for scooters that can perform at open road speeds. Come and ride along some new back roads and BYO lunch or buy locally.

We are having two Saturday rides this month due to Anzac Day being on a Sunday, hence why this ride is on a Saturday as well as earlier April run.

Westage?

where dat?

It's the...

...place that is otherwise known as 'The Olde West' - Westage, where old Westies hang out.

Ha ha - corrected it to Westgate :0)

What route will this run take?

Will you go the back roads through Riverhead and Dairy Flat or the motorway? I am on for it but will meet up with you along the way somewhere.

...as he is leading this ride.

Me too. I don't live far

Me too. I don't live far from the Whangaparaoa Peninsula so would quite like to meet the group (with Irish001) somewhere on route.

Football

Wish I could come on this, but that day is the start of Football for the year and our three are all enrolled, and I'm assistant coaching, so it's going to be a long winter without many rides I fear.

Try and make this Saturday if it works out.

Cheers

back way is fun and only 80kph anyway.

The little jog went the back way to army bay and over the hill to the other bays this summer. From West Auck the only dodgy bit is the lane change for the Wonga Pee intersection the speed differential is fairly high but cars are still slowish from the Silverdale hill.
The rest is either 80kph or outside the fog line.

speaking of the jog

So are you able to bring Superjog on this one? It's probably as fast as my tired old duckling. How's the missus?

Looking forward to this

I am planning to drive up to whangaparoa via East Coast Bays Road from Takapuna. Will aim to get to Army Bay around 11.00am. Happt to meet others from the Shore along the way.

How about we

How about we "NorthShoreites" meet for a cuppa somewhere on route? I don't mind heading South a little (Browns Bay, Forrest Hill, even Smales Farm) before heading up the coast.

Weather forecast is for showers

North Shore Meet Up

A brew beforehand would be good.

The ride is from Westgate to Whangaparoa so we could meet anywhere between The Shore and Westgate. I would suggest Smales Farm as it can become the semi official Magnetos North Shore Rendezvous Point or MNSRP if you like ; ) or somewhere close to where the Upper Harbour Highway starts in Albany (Constellation Drive Area). I dont know of anywhere in Constellation Drive for a cuppa so my vote would be for Smales Farm.

So just before 9am for a brew, leaving at 9.30, to be at Westgate for 10am?

I could do Columbus

I could do Columbus at Smales Farm just before 9.00.  Wont be going to Westgate though. Meet up at Army bay later.

weather

Forecast OK, "often cloudy, chance of showers", see you there. But what of SuperJogman? If you gonna come, Stuart, I'll bring the Liberty ("Bert" for short), otherwise the greatly improved Cygnus/Riva

See you at Smales. We could

See you at Smales. We could always meet up with the main group at Silverdae, or even Army Bay? Could do a North Shore coastal route (Beach Rd.) after our coffee

good fun

That was a good ride, despite a damp beginning, during which I found out (thanks, Mikko and Irish), that an elderly Cygnus with some mild respiratory problems is roughly equivalent to a PX/Belladonna. Ve vill meet again!
