Slightly different take

Posted July 13th, 2010 by Eddie The WOP

Slightly different take on the previous photograph. Cropping for slightly better composition and some work done on the colour, to try and get an "aged" photograph look.
Comments on this (as I am trying to improve my photography) would be greatly appreciated!

Sepia tones are nice - I think your cropping is better than your original pic following the one third/two thirds rule of composition rather than positioning the scoot centrally.
The foreground could be cropped closer to tyre so as to lose some of the foreground and give the picture a bit more of an 'edge'??

I cropped to get more of the "rule of thirds" into play. The sepia tones were done manually, so could probably do those better.
Thanks for the futher tip on cropping, you are right that the foreground is redundant and a better edge would work well!
The old girl is at work at the Airport today, rode it along the old Mangere Bridge and WISHED I had brought my camera, as the sunrise reflected through the new(er) bridges was quite magical.....
and I thought getting the scoot in the pic was all there was to it.

Photo ops are all very well, but when you gonna bring it on a run?
Family commitments over weekends make Magnetos runs pretty difficult. She will be front and centre soon, though!
I had planned on coming to the start of the Ardmore run, but got the day wrong!
